Following its Annual Wage Review, the Fair Work Commission has announced an increase to the minimum wage of 3.3%.  The new minimum weekly wage is $694.90, effective from the first full pay period commencing on/after 1 July, 2017.

Will this affect you?
If your employees’ pay rates are taken from a modern award or national minimum wage, yes this increase affects you.

What do you need to do?
Fair Work pay guides and their pay and conditions tool now reflect the new wage rates.  You can find these on the Fair Work website.  The new rates will need to be uploaded to your payroll system in time for the first full pay period in the 2017/18 financial year.
