As a small business owner with employees you’re subject to certain legal obligations and requirements. The same obligations and requirements as larger businesses and corporations employing thousands of people. The difference is, you’re less likely to have experienced staff dedicated to managing ‘people’ and the responsibilities that come with them.
I saw small business owners struggle to find timely answers to hr issues. I saw them make basic mistakes and fail to meet their legal obligations. These actions weren’t deliberate, these business owners simply didn’t have the knowledge to adequately manage their HR. I saw a problem and established MMO HR Solutions.
I feel that small business owners should have access to professional, yet affordable human resource advice and support, without having to employ their own HR staff member. I also feel that this advice and support needs to recognise the nature and culture of small business, and be tailored to your business. You may need a lot of help, or a little – no issue or project is too small.

Do you have a specific ‘people’ problem such as workplace harassment or employee performance, that you’re not sure how to tackle?
Do you need help with recruitment, but not enough to completely outsource the process?
Do you spend too much time looking up answers to your HR questions when you could be generating more business?
Do you want to DIY your HR management but need to understand the basics?
Hi, I’m Tracey Mottershead. I’m a small business owner, Mum of one, a Girl Guide Leader-in-training and wannabe jogger (I try my best). I understand the pressure you’re under and the amount of balls you have to juggle at once. I can take some of that pressure off you and give you some time back.
Before moving into HR I had a career in Accounting and Finance. I’m a CPA as well as professional member of the Australian Human Resources Institute. This means that I not only understand the people side of your business, but the business itself. I’ve worked for a large corporate down to a smaller not-for-profit, in a range of industries (I won’t bore you with the detail now, but you can find it on my LinkedIn profile if you’re interested).
I want get to know you and your business and be seen as a trusted friend, rather than just another service provider – that’s as important to me as providing a solution to your needs.
Tracey has donated her time and support to MSFIN, which is fantastic. But even better than that, her advice is clear and super easy to understand.Donna Cartwright
